Deep water pool at the "Nikola Y. Vaptsarov"

The Aquatech Ltd. team was responsible for the design and the construction of a swimming pool with special functions for the purpose of the "Nikola Y. Vaptsarov". The facility represents deepwater pool with an area of 12 by 25 meters and a depth ranging from 3 to 5 meters, with adjoining classrooms, wave generation systems and artificial smoke, a helicopter training cabin, a 7.5 m high pool tower and other specialized systems supporting the training for year-round practice of specialists from the Navy, Air Force formations, as well as the conduct of courses in airborne diving. The main functions of the deep water pool are to practice a wide range of maritime rescue operations, as well as to provide training for divers from the Navy and the Special Operations Forces of the Bulgarian Army.

The Deep Water Pool is designed according to the standards of international requirements for conducting and training for survival at sea, including for helicopter crews and passengers. Similar facilities have also been built in Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
